Avoid Constipation and Avoid Hemorrhoids at the Same Time
Ever since constipation was highlighted as one of the main causes of hemorrhoids, people have been trying to figure out exactly how they can prevent themselves from getting constipated -- and by doing so, prevent hemorrhoids. Of course, there's also the question of hydration, and in order to tackle this one you should remember to always drink lots of water, and avoid substances that may cause dehydration. As a general rule of thumb, anything from 8 to 10 glasses of water a day is optimum, and amongst the two most dehydrating substances around are: Caffeine and alcohol.
If you can cut down on those after-work beers, and early morning coffees, you'll notice a marked improvement.

Apart from that though, you also want to be living healthy in other areas too, as this will help your digestive system and improve your overall well-being. If you're leading a healthy lifestyle on the whole, and exercising regularly, you'll find that problems such as constipation and hemorrhoids aren't going to crop up very often.
As a last resort, if you've tried everything you can and you still end up facing bad bouts of constipation, then you might want to consider using stool softeners that can help immensely for even the most troublesome cases. Don't use laxatives though -- they can cause diarrhea and actually worsen hemorrhoid problems that are already present!
